Our Church

Our Early Years Foundation Stage includes Nursery provision. We offer 30 hours of provision alongside the Reception class: 8.45 – 11.45, 11.45 – 2.45, with the option of staying for the final half hour until 3.15 for a small cost. Our teacher Miss Stewart is a supported by teaching assistant Mrs McCormick.

For further information, or to apply for a place in Nursery, please contact the school or refer the Cumbria County Council’s School Admissions Section ‘Applying for a Nursery Place’. In the event of our Nursery being over-subscribed, our usual Admissions Policy applies.

The school day begins at 8:50am each day with registration. Children can be dropped off from 8.45am each day either to the classroom door (EYFS and KS1) or left on the playground (KS2) where there will a member of staff supervising. There is a morning break from 10.30 – 10.45 for Nursery/Reception and KS1 and 11am until 11.15am for KS2. Lunchtime is between 12:15pm and 1:15pm. There is an afternoon break for Nursery/Reception and KS1 from 2:30pm—2:45pm.

The school day finishes at 3:20pm. Parents are asked to wait in the front playground and teachers will direct children to the adult who is collecting them.

For our children in Nursery we offer a flexible approach to provision where parents can select the hours they wish their child to attend. Please contact us to discuss the options available.

St. Michael and All Angels

We have a long, well established relationship with St. Michael and All Angels, and we are proud of the strong Christian ethos that underpins everything we do at Beetham Church of England Primary School. We value the links we have with the members of the church community, who are as well known to the children as the school staff!

Our Christian Values are displayed in the entrance to school and provide a strong focus for day to day activities. We enjoy a daily act of Collective Worship, and each term we focus on a specific value during Worship, in RE lessons and in every day school life.

We hold regular acts of worship in the church to celebrate key festivals of the Christian calendar such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter. We also hold our Christmas performance in the church which adds that extra special atmosphere!

Father Andrew attends school weekly to lead collective worship as well as attending our Celebration Assemblies on a Friday. He also supports the monitoring of teaching and learning in RE and is on the Governing Body.
