Prospective Parents

Our Early Years Foundation Stage includes Nursery provision. We offer 30 hours of provision alongside the Reception class: 8.45 – 11.45, 11.45 – 2.45, with the option of staying for the final half hour until 3.15 for a small cost. Our teacher Miss Stewart is a supported by teaching assistant Mrs McCormick.

For further information, or to apply for a place in Nursery, please contact the school or refer the Cumbria County Council’s School Admissions Section ‘Applying for a Nursery Place’. In the event of our Nursery being over-subscribed, our usual Admissions Policy applies.

The school day begins at 8:50am each day with registration. Children can be dropped off from 8.45am each day either to the classroom door (EYFS and KS1) or left on the playground (KS2) where there will a member of staff supervising. There is a morning break from 10.30 – 10.45 for Nursery/Reception and KS1 and 11am until 11.15am for KS2. Lunchtime is between 12:15pm and 1:15pm. There is an afternoon break for Nursery/Reception and KS1 from 2:30pm—2:45pm.

The school day finishes at 3:20pm. Parents are asked to wait in the front playground and teachers will direct children to the adult who is collecting them.

For our children in Nursery we offer a flexible approach to provision where parents can select the hours they wish their child to attend. Please contact us to discuss the options available.

Wrap Around Care

We offer breakfast club daily beginning at 8am. This costs £3.50 per child and provides a range of breakfast options for children before they start their school day.

After school club also operates daily from 3.20pm. Each day we offer a different activity club linked into the After-School provision that all children are able to attend. Club sessions finish at 4.15pm with a snack provided to children before they leave. For those needing extended after school care we offer a later finish at 5.15pm. The first hour of After School Club costs £4.00 and the second session is a further £4.00 (Fridays: this only runs to 4.45 and costs an extra £2.50) This service is booked in advance using our ParentMail system.

Stay & Play

We run a ‘Stay and Play’ session for children aged 3 and under, every Friday from 9am-10am during term time. Join us for lots of play and fun for your child and a cup of tea and a chat for you! It’s a great chance to see the school, get to know the children and staff and meet other prospective parents and pupils. Please contact us for more details.

OFSTED 2022

We are finally able to confirm the outcome of our OFSTED inspection on the 5th October 2022: Beetham C of E Primary School continues to be a good school. I am delighted to be able to share this report with you. The school is privileged to have such a dedicated and hardworking staff, who provide the wealth of learning that the children experience.
