Eleanor Hooson

Hello! I’m the Year 2 and 3 teacher here at Beetham. Although I was born and grew up in South Cumbria, I recently lived in the historical city of York. My undergraduate degree, from Durham University, was in History and I absolutely love learning about the past as well as sharing it with my class.

One of my biggest passions is teaching reading and writing, and nothing makes me happier than seeing my students develop a love for books. I’m a massive Harry Potter fan and share my home with two feline companions named Ginny and Albus.

Outside of school, you’ll often find me nose-deep in a book, spending time with friends and family, or walking in the beautiful hills. What I like most about Beetham is how incredibly warm and friendly everyone is; it truly feels like a place where everyone belongs.
